Looking for a drink that’s bright, zesty, and totally refreshing? Say hello to the Matcha Mojito!
It’s a fun twist on the classic cocktail, combining the earthy taste of matcha with the zippy zing of lime. Perfect for hot summer days, hanging out with friends, or just when you need a tasty pick-me-up!
Here’s how to whip up this delightful drink in a few easy steps — plus, we’ll tell you how to make it boozy… if you want!
Ingredients for one Matcha Mojito:
- 8–10 fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 lime, sliced into rounds, then quartered (add more lime if you want to!)
- 1/2 tsp brown sugar
- Ice cubes (enough to fill your glass)
- 50 ml pre-made NOT GREEN matcha (adjust based on your taste)
- Sprite Lemonade or any other lemonade (to top it off)
- Optional: 50 ml white rum for a fun alcoholic kick
- For Garnishing: Extra mint leaves, a lime wedge
Instructions:
Step 1: Build the Base
Start by placing those 8–10 mint leaves in your glass. Toss in the sliced lime and sprinkle the brown sugar on top.
Now, grab a muddler (or use your creative thinking and use something else to do this step) and gently mash everything together. This helps release the mint oils and lime juice, making a fragrant base for your mojito.
Step 2: Add the Ice
Fill your glass right to the top with ice cubes.
Step 3: Pour in the Matcha
Now it’s time for the matcha! Add 50 ml of your pre-made NOT GREEN matcha to the glass.
Step 4: Top it Off
Pour lemonade into the glass until it’s almost full.
Leave a little space if you’re adding rum.
Step 5: Optional — Add the Rum
Want to make it a party? Pour in 50 ml of white rum for that perfect boozy twist.
Step 6: Mix It Up
Grab a spoon and give that drink a good stir!
You want to make sure the lime, sugar, and mint are all mixed in nicely.
Step 7: Garnish and Serve
Finish it off with a sprig of mint and a lime wedge on top.
It’s so pretty and definitely Instagram-worthy!
Tips for the Perfect Matcha Mojito:
Adjust the Sweetness: If you like it sweeter, feel free to add more brown sugar.
Choose Quality Matcha: NOT GREEN matcha is the way to go for a tasty balance with lime and mint.
Go Heavy on the Mint: Love mint? Don’t be shy! Add some extra leaves for a refreshing kick.
This Matcha Mojito is super easy to make and even easier to enjoy. Serve it at your next get-together, or treat yourself to one on a sunny afternoon — either way, it’s sure to be a hit! Cheers!
