Matcha: the healthier alternative. Why you should make the switch from coffee to matcha right now?
All of us – hustlers – are interested in where to get the ultimate energy that we lack for all the ongoing projects. AND. We should think more sustainably about how to get it as safe and healthy as possible. Of course, the effect is just as important so that we can get through the day just as efficiently.
The holy grail – caffeine
Caffeine – central nervous system stimulant found in plants such as coffee beans and tea leaves.
The well-known caffeine source – coffee – has become an essential part of our everyday life – at home, at the office, during early or late hours to help us stay awake. It is almost the only thing known for us to get through everything because it has been in the market for years. But there is a BUT – we should use it wisely. A lot of people have accepted coffee as the number 1 energy booster, but you should know – it's not the only one. As you might have guessed, matcha is the other option and, actually, a more effective alternative.
What is matcha?
Matcha, in simple words, is specially grown and proceeded green tea leaves, just finely ground into powder. Its origins come from China, although later developed in Japan, where the NOT GREEN matcha comes from – Kyoto.
What is the difference? Why the switch? Let’s have a closer look at the differences from 2 perspectives – health and energy.
Health
Matcha:
-
Packed with nutrients like antioxidants, minerals and vitamins;
-
Speeds up metabolism and makes you more focused;
-
Contains an amino acid L-theanine, which balances the caffeine's effects, promotes mental clarity as well as decreases stress and improves focus;
-
Offers cellular protection and reduces the risk of chronic illnesses.
Coffee:
-
Enhances alertness, focus and reaction time;
-
Lowers the risk of type 2 diabetes, and Parkinson's disease;
-
It might lead to side effects like anxiety, insomnia and digestive issues.
Energy
The main difference is in the time the energy boost lasts. As you can see in the graph – the energy boost provided by matcha lasts a lot longer – 4 to 6 hours and provides a smoother and longer energy boost, whereas coffee only 1 to 3 hours and provides an almost immediate rise and then a sudden crash.
All of us have to start thinking of our health. If not us, who will? Our daily lives have become more and more stressful and full of anxiety, so why are we still drinking coffee, which works just as an accelerator?
Fun fact, matcha is a lot cheaper than a therapist to deal with your anxiety, and it could also save you a lot of time, which you could surely put into your new start-up.
As matcha pros, we can say that the switch to matcha is a smarter way to build a whole new sustainable and stress-free lifestyle. 🧘 🍵
